About

Writing at the intersection of memory, place, and becoming.

Ruby Sodhi, Ph.D.

I am a writer and educator drawn to stories of lineage, belonging, and return—how we carry what comes before us, and how we learn to walk forward differently. My work lives at the intersection of memory, place, and inheritance, shaped by migration, family history, and the quiet questions that follow us across a lifetime.

I am currently working on a hybrid memoir, The Path Seeker, which weaves personal narrative with cultural memory and place-based storytelling rooted in my ancestral home in Punjab. Through this work, I explore how devotion, loss, and inherited histories shape identity—and how remembering becomes a way of choosing who we become.

Alongside my writing life, I bring over a decade of experience in education, with a focus on learning, special education, and accreditation. Writing is where my professional and personal worlds meet—a space of inquiry, reflection, and becoming.
